Diffusion focuses on a gradual process in which memory, emotion, and identity lose their clear boundaries and slowly blend into space. Rather than presenting memory as a complete or linear story, the work pays attention to moments of blurring and lingering, when personal experiences begin to fade, are shaped by their surroundings, and are absorbed by the environment.

In Porous, I used three layers with soft ground and hard ground, this is an interesting experiment in combining different effects. It also marks my deeper exploration of narrative memory from a third-person perspective, enhancing the perception of shifting light, movement, and disoriented space. At moments where memories overlap, both the state of identity and the recollections themselves begin to feel blurred and chaotic.

Submerge centres on an emotional and perceptual state of “being submerged.” When the inability to express oneself persists over time—when identity is overlooked and one’s voice is suppressed—vulnerability can, in certain moments, transform into a temporary form of shelter. This condition is not simply about danger or disappearance, but occupies an ambiguous zone where protection and suffocation coexist.

The Quiet Between I captures a brief moment of stillness at the end of the day, when the room settles into silence and shifting tree shadows fall across the window. Installed as a lampshade, the work evokes the quiet familiarity of domestic space and the gentle persistence of memory.

Entwined focuses on the experience of my room being compelled to connect with the outside world, while my personal space is simultaneously intruded upon. In this moment, the room in memory no longer serves as the center of my sensory perception. The intense sense of connection, combined with the presence of fallen leaves from nature, becomes the most impressive and memorable aspect of the space in my recollection.

The work centers on my perception of the room after the lights are turned off. As the light gradually fades, darkness takes over at first, and then small traces of light slowly seep in. Everything in the room appears different from how it looks during the day, blurred and slightly uncanny.
